A regular contributor to the Letters section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer has died.
Amado “Amading” Fuentebella Cabaero Sr., 91 years old, died on Dec. 8.
Cabaero was a retired banker and founder and chair emeritus of the Philippine Association of Retired Persons.
Even at 91, he continued to write about political issues. He was a staunch advocate of government transparency.
His last letter to the editor, about tension between China and the United States over the West Philippine Sea, saw print in the Inquirer on Nov. 3.
His remains lie at St. Matthew room, St. Peter’s Chapel, on Imus Road, Cebu City. Interment is on Dec. 14 at Manila Memorial Garden in Lilo-an, Cebu.
