Vice President Jejomar Binay? He’s an expert on graft and corruption.

“It’s good that VP Binay is explaining the difference between graft and corruption. He’s an expert on that,” said Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas on Thursday.

This was Roxas’ reaction when he was asked what he thinks about Binay sharing his thoughts to students last Tuesday on the difference of graft and corruption.

“Tapos maganda rin na nagpaliwanag siya. Baka may personal experience siya na alam niya talaga ang pagkakaiba ng graft sa corruption, kaya maganda na ipinaliwanag niya ‘yung pagkakaiba,” he said in an ambush interview in San Juan City.

On Tuesday, Roxas joined the inauguration of a St. Josephville housing project in San Juan led by Mayor Guia Gomez and Senator JV Ejercito.

If elected, the presidential aspirant vowed he would put corrupt officials in jail.

“Para sa akin, sala sa Diyos yan. Ibig sabihin, kasalanan sa Diyos ‘yan kung ninanakaw mo ang kaban ng bayan,” he said.

But at the same time, Roxas said he would not be selective in sending corrupt officials to jail.

“Hindi ko naman pini-personal kahit sino. Kung mapatunayan at ma-convict sa court of law, ipapakulong ko sila,” said Roxas.”

Binay, who will run against Roxas in the presidential race next year, is facing a slew of charges over his corruption allegations when he was still the mayor of Makati City.
