Low pressure area may enter PH this weekend

A trough of a low pressure area will bring rains to Eastern Mindanao on Thursday, the state weather bureau said.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the regions of Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The LPA being monitored by Pagasa may enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday or Saturday and is still too far to affect the country, Pagasa’s weather forecaster said in a report to Panahon.TV.

Based on forecast models, it might intensify and affect Bicol or Eastern Visayas but it could still change track, he said. The LPA was last observed 2,275 kilometers east of Mindanao.

Cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Batanes and the islands of Calayan and Babuyan due to the northeast monsoon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country. CDG
