Trainer aircraft crashes off Oriental Mindoro, says Caap

A trainer aircraft crashed off Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) said.

Eric Apolonio, Caap spokesman, said the trainer plane crash 500 meters off Calapan airport after conducting a touch and go exercise.

Apolonio said the captain identified as Capt. Angelo Zerna and student pilot Mark Mendoza were unhurt but was brought to the hospital for medical check-up.

Aircraft Accident Investigation & Inquiry Board of Caap has sent its investigators to probe the cause of the accident. Report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM/TVJ
