Pangasinan city councilor found dead

SAN CARLOS CITY — A councilor in this city in Pangasinan province was found dead inside his car on Monday, police said.

Senior Supt. Rollie Saltat, provincial police director, said Councilor Mienrado Ynzon Sr. had stab wounds when he was found inside his sport utility vehicle (SUV) at about 5 p.m. Monday in Barangay (village) Baldog.

But Saltat could not say yet how many times Ynzon was stabbed, noting investigators were still processing the crime scene at press time.

Ynzon served as councilor for three terms during the administration of the late Mayor Julian Resuello from 1998 to 2007. He was appointed city administrator when Resuello’s son, incumbent Mayor Julier Resuello, won in the 2007 polls.

In 2010, Ynzon ran and won as city councilor and had filed his candidacy for his third term in next year’s elections.
