LRT-1 downgrades operations due to technical problem

A technical problem forced the Light Rail Transit (LRT-1) to downgrade its operations in some stations on Wednesday, the LRT-1 said in an advisory.

On a twitter post, LRT-1 said it implemented a provisional operation from Gil Puyat Station to Roosevelt Station and vice versa past 12 p.m.

Rochelle Hilario of the Light Rail Manila Corporation told INQUIRER.net that a train was derailed while making a U-turn at the Baclaran Station at 12:32 p.m.

Hilario said no passenger was onboard during the incident because the commuters were already offloaded at the Baclaran Station. He added that the train’s driver was safe.
