DECEMBER is Overseas Filipinos Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 276 signed on June 21, 1988, by President Corazon Aquino. The Commission on Filipinos Overseas said there are more than 10 million Filipinos working abroad. The figure includes 4.21 million temporary workers expected to return home when their contracts end and over 4.87 immigrants whose stay overseas do not depend on employment.
