Farmer killed in carabao attack in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY — A 50-year old farmer was killed after he was attacked by a carabao in a mountain village of Ajuy town, about 85 km northeast of here.

Alfredo Amor, a farmer from Barangay Badiangan in Ajuy, died of multiple wounds in the stomach, neck, shoulder and other parts of his body caused by the carabao’s horns.

According to the victim’s wife, Edith, a carabao owned by a farmer in nearby village of Manlod in Barotac Viejo town wandered to their farm on Wednesday morning.

Alfredo hid their male carabao to prevent the two carabaos from fighting.

About 3 p.m., the carabao came nearer to their house in Bandiangan, forcing Alfredo to drive the carabao away.

It instead attacked him, killing the farmer on the spot. CDG
