Poe: It will be very convenient for Binay if I’ll be disqualified
Sen. Grace Poe has said it will be “very convenient” for Vice President Jejomar Binay if she will be disqualified from the presidential race in 2016.
This was how Poe reacted to Binay’s reported statement that she was not a natural-born Filipino and should be disqualified from the race.
“That’s his opinion. Of course, it would be very convenient for him if I’ll be disqualified,” she said during a presidential forum held at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City on Wednesday.
But if indeed she would be disqualified from the race, Poe said she would respect the rule of law.
“On the other hand, pinaglalaban ko at patuloy kung ipaglalaban ang lahat ng mga disqualification sa akin na ito ay karapatan ng bawat Pilipino,” she said.
“Ang isang batang inabandona ng kanilang mga magulang ay hindi rin dapat i-abandona ng ating pamahalaan,” the senator said.
Poe said it was already unfortunate that an abandoned child like her had to endure injustices but more so if that child would also be compelled to present his or her parents.
