TYPHOON “In-fa” has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and will be named “Marilyn,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.
The state weather bureau said in its weather forecast released Sunday afternoon that “Marilyn” was located 1,140 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.
The typhoon packs maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 210 kph.
It is forecast to move in a west northwest direction at 25 kph.
Pagasa said that for Monday, residents in Mindanao, Bicol Region, Eastern and Central Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands.
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the state weather bureau said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail.
