COTABATO CITY – At least 14 persons were hurt when a grenade exploded during a festival held in front of the provincial capitol grounds in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, Saturday night, police said.
People were milling around “ukay-ukay” (second-hand clothing) and ornamental plants stalls along the Isulan-Tacurong highway when someone threw a grenade at about 8:30 p.m.
Supt. Jemuel Siason, chief of Sultan Kudarat police provincial public safety battalion, said the blast occurred about 20 meters from AG Advance Gasoline Station.
The injured were brought to the Sultan Kudarat provincial hospital across the highway.
Most of the wounded were “ukay-ukay” patrons.
