Ex-mayor indicted

The office of the Ombudsman has brought graft charges in the Sandiganbayan against former Mayor Ramie Rosit of Boston, Davao Oriental, and 10 other town officials for the allegedly questionable procurement of heavy equipment worth P15 million in 2004.

The upland municipality of Boston was one of the hardest-hit areas when Typhoon “Pablo” flattened a large swathe of Mindanao in 2012.

Besides Rosit, also indicted were then Vice Mayor Amie Monredondo and nine councilors.
