Man who earned from ‘jumpers’ slain in Malabon

A MAN known for making illegal power connections in his neighborhood was shot dead in Malabon City on Sunday.

The widow of Danilo Zinampan, 42, admitted that her husband had been engaged in fixing “jumpers” for a fee, earning up to P800 a week from this racket.

Myra said there was a strong possibility that Zinampan was killed because he turned down someone’s “request” for a jumper.

The victim was shot in the head by two still-unidentified gunmen in Paradise Village, Barangay Tonsuya, around 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 15, according to PO3 Alexander dela Cruz of the Malabon police.

Dela Cruz noted that the area was occupied mostly by informal settlers relying on illegal connections both for their power and water supply. Jodee A. Agoncillo
