BRUSSELS — No travel restriction is in place as of posting but the Philippine Embassy in France is urging Filipinos who are in Paris or are planning to visit the French capital soon to practice vigilance and caution following last Friday’s terror attacks.

In a statement released Monday, the Philippine embassy asked Filipinos to monitor the news and official French government advisories for the latest developments.

“Everyone is requested to exercise vigilance and caution and to be aware of their surroundings, with the view to ensuring their personal security,” it said.

A wave of simultaneous attacks–mass shooting, suicide bombing and hostage taking–shocked Paris on Friday night, leaving 129 people dead and more than 300 others injured.

French President Francois Hollande has vowed that France was going to be “ruthless” in attacking the Islamic State as the jihadist group claimed responsibility in the deadliest attacks in Paris since World War II.

Meanwhile, Philippines’ Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Victoria Bataclan said that they have not received any information on Filipinos living here who are adversely affected by the restrictions of the French government due to the attacks.
