2 men rapped for robbing ‘Teban’

Robbery charges were filed in court yesterday against the two persons who allegedly robbed Provincial Board Member Julian “Teban” Daan last Monday.
Ramses Abatayo and Julius Racaza were committed to the Talisay City Jail in barangay Maghaway, Talisay City.

Bail is recommended at P 150,000 each.

Abatayo, a neighbor of Daan, admitted that he held up the board member inside the latter’s home in in barangay Tabunok, Talisay because he needed money to pay his debts.

“Mangayo lang kog pasaylo niya. Andam nako dawaton ang sentensya. (All I ask is to be forgiven and I’m ready to face the consequences of my actions),” Abatayo told reporters.

He earlier accused Racaza of conspiring with him.

But he later on recanted his statements and absolved Racaza, a relative of Daan.

Assistant City Prosecutor Jennelyn Forrosuelo of Talisay City elevated the charges to the court.
