Fair weather, isolated light rains in Metro Manila on Apec week

Metro Manila will have a fair weather condition apart from isolated light rains during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit next week.

“The isolated light rains will come from the northeast monsoon,” said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s Manny Mendoza by phone on Friday.

The weather bureau is also not monitoring any weather disturbance within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

In November, the chance of a tropical cyclone hitting the country is zero to one, according to Mendoza.

The rest of the country will also experience fair weather next week. Rains and thunderstorms may prevail in Mindanao due to the intertropical convergence zone.

The Apec is a forum for member-economies to promote free trade in Asia. Powerful leaders of different countries are expected to attend the meetings from Nov. 17 to 20.
