Boy, 4, hurt in grenade blast in North Cotabato

KIDAPAWAN CITY — A four-year-old boy was wounded when unidentified men lobbed a fragmentation grenade on the national highway in the town of Kabacan in North Cotabato on Wednesday evening.

Superintendent Bernard Tayong, spokesperson of the police in North Cotabato, said the victim was a passenger of a passing vehicle when the grenade exploded.

The blast happened near a newly constructed community police assistance hut in Barangay Kayaga.

Tayong said the community police assistance hut was being manned by the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) and a member of Kabacan PNP when the explosion took place.
