ILOILO CITY — Three persons were injured while five houses were either destroyed or damaged by fire in Barangay  Rizal Pala-Pala Uno Wednesday night.

The injured were identified as  Antonio Pagunalim Dave,  25; Candelaria Cabayao; and a resident identified only as  Islago. All three were brought to the hospital and were in safe condition.

Three houses were destroyed  and two were damaged in the fire that started past 7 p.m.

FO2 Denmark Macoco, arson investigator  of the Iloilo City Fire Department, said that initial investigation showed that the fire started from the Toms and A Eatery owned by Ruben Puego but currently rented by Cezar Arcenas.

Macoco said that they were still investigating the cause of fire. The barangay is a thickly populated area mostly inhabited by informal settlers.  SFM
