In its last few months, the Aquino administration should be careful about undertaking last-minute, band-aid solution to problems just to inflate the number of its accomplishments by the end of his term, according to Sen. Grace Poe.

This is what seems to be taking place, said Poe, as she took note of the numerous road repairs that are now being done.

“A legacy should have a lasting positive effect rather than further embroiling society in problems once this administration leaves office,” Poe, who is running for President, said in a statement.

“Rushing things can ruin things, so they say. And I’m afraid this is what’s happening now,” she added.

She said the “seemingly endless road repairs” have caused inconvenience and worsened the traffic congestion.

She also said that several infrastructure projects were only started during the tail-end of the Aquino administration, and were now being rushed.

These include the Skyway extension and the flyover from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport complex to Diosdado Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City.

At the same time, Poe said she was also concerned about whether the Aquino administration could meet its promises to survivors of Supertyphoon “Yolanda” before its term ends in eight months.

It might turn to “band-aid solutions and haphazardly built houses that may not be able to withstand the next typhoon that comes along,” she said.
