AFTER confiscating a civet cat recently, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) this time seized toy dogs, sex enhancers, appliances, but no firearms inside Maximum Security Compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).

The continuing raid, according to BuCor Director Ricardo Rainier Cruz III, is part of its “Oplan Galugad” to rid the national penitentiary of prohibited items.

The raid was conducted on Quadrant 1 and 2 of the Maximum Security Compound.

Among the cells inspected Wednesday were the ones where convicted drug lord Amin Boratong and convicted bank robber Herbert Ampang Colangco were housed before they were transferred to a much secured facility.

Colangco was the leader of the Ampang Colangco robbery group that figured in several bank heists in Pampanga, Quezon City and Paranaque in the early 2000s while Boratong was convicted for operating the P900-million shabu “tiangge” in Pasig City that was demolished by police in 2006.
