/ 12:14 AM November 11, 2015

SUSPECTED communist rebels raided a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) detachment in Caramoan, Camarines Sur, overpowering the lone guard there and seizing his M16 rifle and other belongings.

There was no firefight between the eight armed men and the lone PCG personnel identified as a certain SN1 Juan Miguel Ravago.

“There was no firefight, he might have been killed if he fought back. The armed men went there to the PCG detachment and seized his belongings,” said Lt. Col. Joselito Pastrana, commander of the 42nd Infantry Battalion.

The incident occurred about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the PCG detachment at the wharf in Barangay Guijalo in Caramoan, Camarines Sur. Julie M. Aurelio
