Initial police investigation showed that a Ford Ranger with plate No. FHU 267 was about to cross the highway going south to Dumaguete City.

When the pick-up reached the intersection, a customized 125cc motorcycle driven by Teves hit the left side of the Ford Ranger.

Aynie Mandajoyan Dizon was the registered owner of the Ford Ranger but it was driven by her husband, Alejo Dizon Jr., a resident of Villa Pastora Subdivision, Barangay Batinguel in Dumaguete City.

The motorcycle broke into two on impact. The teenager suffered severe injury in the body.

Witnesses said that minutes before the accident, a tricycle was traversing the highway from Dumaguete going south to Sibulan at a moderate speed ahead of Teves.

Teves overtook the tricycle but hit the pick-up instead.
