SC recalls ruling ordering reinstatement of 1,400 PAL flight attendants
MANILA, Philippines –The Supreme Court has recalled its Second Division’s “final” ruling ordering the reinstatement of 1,400 Philippine Airlines flight attendants, who went on strike in 1998.
In a two-page resolution on Oct. 4, the court en banc ordered that the case involving PAL and its flight attendants union–the Flight Attendants and Stewards Association of the Philippines–be re-raffled to a “new member-in-charge.”
“Pursuant to the … internal rules of the Supreme Court, the court en banc resolved to accept the [case] of FASAP vs. PAL and to take cognizance thereof,” the court said.
“The court en banc further resolved to recall the resolution dated Sept. 7, issued by the Second Division in the case. The court further resolved to re-raffle the case to a new member-in-charge,” it added.
