MANILA, Philippines — An active low pressure area was seen east of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Monday.

As of 2 a.m., the ALPA was seen 680 kilometers east of Mindanao, embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Luzon and Visayas, it said.

The whole country will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Palawan which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, the state-run weather bureau said.
