More than a decade after his passing, actor Fernando Poe Jr., born Ronald Allan Kelley Poe, is still a hit among the masses.
On Nov. 1, fans and visitors at the Manila North Cemetery made it a point to visit the mausoleum of the actor who is known to many as the “King of Philippine Action Movies.”
People took selfies and photos in the Poe family’s mausoleum located at the corner of 2nd and 24th streets in the said cemetery.
The location of FPJ’s tomb is a few hundred meters away from the burial sites of former Presidents Ramon Magsaysay, Sergio Osmeña Jr. and Manuel Roxas, which are located at the cemetery’s Main Avenue.
While Poe’s mausoleum drew crowds, other burial sites weren’t so lucky.
Such is the case of the grave of Magsaysay where only a handful of people stopped by and paid their respects to the late president.
Meanwhile, flower wreaths adorn the burial sites of late Senators Quintin Paredes and Claro M. Recto.
As of 2 p.m. on Sunday, the Manila Police District estimated that there are 1.7 million people who visited the 54-hectare cemetery.
