Florida executes man for killing 4 in 1985

WASHINGTON, United States—The US state of Florida executed a convicted murder Thursday who had been on death row 30 years for killing four people, including his five-year-old daughter, in 1985.

Jerry Correll, 59, died by lethal injection at 7:36 p.m. (2336 GMT), according to McKinley Lewis, spokesman for the Florida Department of Corrections.

The US Supreme Court rejected a request for a stay of execution.

Correll was sentenced for killing his daughter, his ex-wife, and her mother and sister.

The execution is the 25th in the United States this year according to the Death Penalty Information Center.
