“We appeal to the public to accord policemen the utmost respect,” said spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor in a press briefing on Thursday.
Mayor said officers with the lowest ranks of Police Officer 1 (PO1) should be acknowledged by the people as they are the officers who are in the field.
Through simple gestures of respect, Mayor said it could inspire them to do their jobs protecting people better.
“Ang mga taong ito, nagtatrabaho ‘yan lalo na ang mga PO1s. Most of them bago sa field and through simple respect, big boost ito sa morale nila para mag-ayos ng trabaho,” he said.
