Fire hits iconic Lopez mansion in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY—Fire hit an iconic pink-colored mansion of the Lopez family in Iloilo City Sunday evening which led to a still undetermined amount of damage.

The fire started shortly before 10:45 p.m. and was controlled by 11:31 p.m., according to initial reports of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Iloilo City.

An unidentified boy was brought to a hospital for injuries, according to the BFP report.

The BFP could not provide details including the cause and extent of damage of the fire as investigators were still on the scene as of 12:43 a.m. Monday.

The mansion at the Lopez compound along Luna Street in La Paz district has become an attraction for its pink-colored tall concrete walls and wooden gate.
