LEGAZPI CITY—The provincial government of Albay, headed by Gov. Joey Salceda, would go on a humanitarian mission in areas stricken by Typhoon “Lando” in northern and Central Luzon.
At 6 p.m. on Thursday, at least 100 volunteers left the province to conduct medical missions and bring the province’s water filtration machine to two areas worst hit by Lando—Casiguran town in Aurora province and Nueva Ecija province.
To form part of the team are health workers from the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital, Albay Health Emergency Management and Provincial Health Office, according to Bernardo Alejandro, head of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Bicol.
He said the humanitarian mission would be the 14th for Team Albay and OCD. Alejandro said the mission’s focus is to provide potable water and basic medical needs of survivors. Michael B. Jaucian, Inquirer Southern Luzon
