Palace welcomes CBCP move

MANILA, Philippines—Malacañang on Thursday welcomed a statement by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines distancing itself from calls within its ranks for nonpayment of taxes in protest against President Benigno Aquino III’s support of the RH bill.

“The debate is already in Congress, let us just allow the debate to happen,” said presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda.
