18 local flights cancelled due to ‘Lando’

MANILA, Philippines — While typhoon Lando (international name Koppu) slowly moved away on Monday from the country’s territory, at least 18 domestic flights arriving at and leaving the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) were grounded.

According to the Manila International Airport (MIAA), 18 local flights of the Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebu Pacific (CebuPac), and Skyjet were cancelled on Monday for the safety of passengers.

Among cancelled PAL flights were: PR/2P 2196, PR/2P 2197, PR/2P 2198, and PR/2P 2198 Manila-Laoag-Manila; PR/2P 2959 and PR/2P 2960 Manila-Cotabato-Manila; as well as PR/2P 2014 and PR/2P 2015 Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila.

Also grounded were SkyJet Manila-Basco-Manila flights M8 816 and M8 817; as well as Cebu Pacific flights: 5J 196 and 5J 197 Manila-Cauayan-Manila; 5J 504 and 5J 505 Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila; and 5J 885, 5J 886, 5J 887 and 5J 888 Manila-Cotabato-Manila.

Affected passengers in the cancelled flights were advised by the airline firms that they could avail of the next available flights upon the clearing of the weather.

Passengers with confirmed tickets may rebook within 30 days of their original flight schedules with no penalty or charge.  SFM
