Senate employees allowed to stay home due to ‘Lando’

Senate employers were not required to report for work on Monday due to typhoon “Lando.”

Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto said employees “are not required to report for work today” as Metro Manila remained under Storm Signal No. 1.

“Due to reports that storm signal is still maintained over Metro Manila by Pagasa (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) plus the suspension of government offices in neighboring provinces and regions and the latest weather bulletin that heavy to intense rainfall is expected within the 500-kilometer radius of typhoon Lando, all Senate employees are not required to report for work today,” Recto said.

At least two committee hearings were scheduled on Monday morning but some employees already at the Senate went home after receiving Recto’s order.
