Typhoon Lando (international name Koppu) has further intensified as it continues to threaten the provinces of Aurora, Isabela and Northern Quezon, the weather bureau said Saturday night.
In its 11 pm Saturday bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Lando is expected to make a landfall over Northern Aurora area by early Sunday morning.
There is an estimated rainfall amount is from heavy to intense within the 650 km diameter of the typhoon.
Storm surge may reach to a maximum of 3 to 4 meters in Aurora and neighboring provinces, Pagasa added.
Lando’s center as of 10 pm Saturday was located at 135 km East Northeast of Baler, Aurora or 90 km East Southeast of Casiguran Aurora.
It has maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 220 kph, Pagasa said.
Public Storm Warning Signal No. 4 is raised over Aurora and Southern Isabela.
Signal No. 3 is up over the rest of Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Ifugao and Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands.
Signal No. 2 is up over Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan group of Islands, Benguet, Mt. Province, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, rest of Quezon, Camarines Norte and Metro Manila.
Signal No. 1 is up in Batanes, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Lubang Island, northern Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Sur, Albay and Catanduanes.
