Four inmates escape from jail in Albay town
LEGAZPI CITY—Four inmates escaped from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) detention center in San Lorenzo, Tabaco City in Albay early Saturday but two were captured hours later, police said.
Senior Superintendent Marlo Meneses, Albay provincial police chief, said the four inmates were all considered as “trustees” (trusted prisoners) in the jail but were discovered to have bolted jail at around 6 a.m.
Two of them, identified as Rodolfo Collada and Erwin Collada, both facing illegal drug charges, were captured by elements of the Tabaco City police at 8:50 a.m. within the city’s vicinity and were brought back to the BJMP jail, said Meneses.
The two other escapees—identified as Jewy Bobier, who was charged with murder, and Michael Llagas, who was detained on illegal drug charges—remained at large and being hunted by combined elements of the provincial and Tabaco city police.
Meneses said they were still determining how the four broke out of jail. RAM
