Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. flew to Laoag City in Ilocos Norte on Friday to join his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, who is seeking a third term in Congress as a representative of the second district of Ilocos Norte.
“If you’re running for the second-highest elective office of the land you have to make a lot of preparations. But that can wait. Family comes first,” Marcos said in a statement.
Before filing her certificate of candidacy (COC) at the local office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Imelda and her family are scheduled to hear mass at the Immaculate Concepcion Church in Batac.
The son and namesake of the late dictator and former President Ferdinand Marcos is seeking vice presidency.
He filed his COC last Tuesday at the Comelec headquarters in Manila. CDG
