No is No: Aide files Duterte’s COC for Davao City mayor

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, through his executive assistant Christopher “Bong” Go, filed his certificate of candidacy for reelection on Thursday afternoon.

Go was wearing a white shirt with “No is No” printed on the front, and “Sinabi ko ng ayoko, ang titigas ng ulo nyo” (I already said no, you’re all hard-headed) at the back, when he went to the Commission on Election office here.


Earlier, Go told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the mayor was not running for president but would instead seek reelection.

The confirmation came amid reports that the mayor would file his certificate of candidacy for president Thursday or Friday. A lot of his supporters have also gathered at the Commission on Elections’ office in Intramuros, waiting for him to file his COC.


Several Duterte supporters have also shaved their heads, following the lead of Duterte’s daughter, Sara. SFM
