Did You Know: First Philippine Assembly

The First Philippine Assembly was inaugurated on Plaza Cervantes in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Oct. 16, 1907. In its first session, the assembly elected Sergio Osmeña from Cebu province  as speaker and Manuel Quezon from Tayabas as majority floor leader. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
