LIST: Presidential, VP, senatorial aspirants on day 3 of COC filing
More Filipinos have expressed their intention to seek top national posts as the filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) entered its third day at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters in Intramuros, Manila.
As of Oct. 14, 5:00 p.m., Comelec said 57 people filed COCs for president, 11 for vice president, and 53 for senator. Thirty-one party-list groups have also fielded their nominees.

Asked about the high number of political hopefuls, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said the acceptance of COCs is “ministerial,” adding that the Comelec does not screen aspirants at that level.
