Kidnapped Zamboanga Sibugay town mayor freed

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The kidnapped mayor of Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay had been released by her captors on Tuesday, a ranking military officer said.

Navy Commander Roy Vincent Trinidad, chief of staff of the Naval Forces in Western Mindanao, said Gemma Adana was turned over to Sulu Vice Governor Abdusakur Tan past 8 a.m.

Trinidad did not provide details but added that Adana, who was kidnapped in Barangay Taytay Manubo in Naga in April, was being fetched by elements of the Joint Task Group Sulu and will be transported to this city.
