Cyclone may be coming

pagasa-satpic-1013A POTENTIAL cyclone is expected to enter Philippine territory on Wednesday or Thursday, the weather bureau said.

The low pressure area in the Pacific Ocean was about 2,900 kilometers east of Luzon as of early Monday.

It was moving westward and is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next couple of days, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“It is possible it will develop into a cyclone before it arrives,” meteorologist Robert Badrina said.

The cyclone will be locally named “Lando.”

Badrina said it was still too early to forecast whether the cyclone will directly hit the country since it was still a low pressure area.
