Binay attends Mass before filing COC

/ 07:10 AM October 12, 2015

Vice President Jejomar Binay arrived at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila to attend Mass hours before he was set to file his certificate of candidacy (COC) for president on Monday.

Accompanying him were his daughter Senator Nancy Binay, his spokespersons and Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla.

Before he proceeded to the church, he attended a boodle fight in Barangay 655 in Intramuros, just a few meters from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headquarters.

Binay is seeking the presidency amid five plunder complaints and two graft investigations over alleged overprice and rigging of procurement in connection with several infrastructure projects in Makati when he was mayor. His son, suspended Makati mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay, was dismissed and perpetually barred from public office for misconduct and dishonesty in the course of the graft investigation by the Ombudsman.
