Joker Arroyo’s widow quietly returns to Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Felicitas Aquino-Arroyo, the widow of Senator Joker Arroyo, arrived early Saturday morning at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) without any fanfare.
Her quiet arrival afforded her privacy following her husband’s passing on October 5 from what was reported to be an unsuccessful heart operation in California. Senator Arroyo was 88.
The grieving wife of the late senator arrived a little past 5 a.m., Saturday, at the NAIA Terminal 2 on Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight PR 105.
She left the San Francisco International Airport at 11:54 p.m. of October 8.
According to records of the Manila International Airport Authority, the senator’s widow requested for assistance from the public affairs division for her arrival at the NAIA.
Senator Arroyo was a key figure in the EDSA people power revolution that ousted President Marcos in 1986. He was President Corazon Aquino’s executive secretary in her revolutionary government from 1986 to 1987. He was also elected Makati City congressman from 1992 to 2001 and was senator from 2001 to 2013. SFM
