CITY OF MALOLOS, Philippines—At least 200 kilos of double-dead meat was seized by authorities in Guiguinto, Bulacan, on Saturday evening.
Supt. Julius Caesar Domingo, Guiguinto police chief, said two suspects were arrested after they were caught slaughtering two dead pigs inside the house of one of the suspect at 8:30 pm, based on a tip from an informant.
The suspects were identified as Rock De Guia, a-55 year old meat trader and Rolando Layug, 40, both residents of Brgy. Pritil, Guiguinto.
Dr. Eduardo Jose, Municipal Veterinary and Agricultural officer, confirmed that the confiscated meat was double dead which was immediately ordered for burning.
The suspects are facing violations of Republic Act no. 10536 amending R.A. no 9296 or the Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines. TVJ
