TODAY, Oct. 9, is the 100th birth anniversary of National Artist for Cinema Manuel Conde. A movie actor, director and producer, Conde is best known for his critically acclaimed works like Ibong Adarna (1941), Si Juan Tamad (1947) and Genghis Khan (1950). Conde died in Manila on Aug 11, 1985, and was named national artist in 2009. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
