Kenyan wins men’s 10k plum in 3rd Gullas Run
KENYAN runner Josphat Too won top honors in the premier 10-kilometer race in yesterday’s Third Gullas Run which started at the Talisay City Hall with around 800 runners competing.
Too breasted the tape in 32 minutes and 47 seconds to beat Cebuano elite runners Robert Daang and Riez Enriquez who settled for second and third, respectively.
Daang clocked 34 minutes and 51 seconds while Enriquez finished in 35:46.
In the 10k women’s race, Mary Jane Beboso claimed the top spot in 42 minutes and 52 seconds followed by Jojielyn Pepito (44:41) and Marichu Luterte (45:07).
Another Kenyan, Abraham Missous, a qualifier for the 35th National Milo Marathon in Manila on Dec. 11 topped the 5k category with a time of 16 mins. and 16 secs. while Jhean Andrin topped the female category in 21:05.
Ronny Andrin finished second to Missous in 17:43 while Harrold Estrada placed third in 17:59. Jhean’s younger sister Lovely Fe Andrin trailed her in second place with a time of 21:07 while Babiemeryh Obrero finished third in 24:01.
Article continues after this advertisementIn the 3k run, Michael John Beboso and Cherry Andrin topped the men’s and women’s class in 13:34 and 12:37, respectively. Congressman Eddie Gullas and his family joined yesterday’s fun run along with Talisay City mayor Socrates Fernandez and members of the Talisay City Council. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
