WHY? Did he steal anything?

This was how Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas allayed the fear of Vice President Jejomar Binay of a “sinister plan” of being put behind bars after filing his candidacy next week.

When asked to comment on Binay’s allegations, Roxas told reporters on Tuesday to better ask Binay about the arrest plot as he doesn’t want to pay attention to senseless statements.

“Wala ako rito para makipag ping-pongan sa mga statement na wala namang katuturan. So siguro sya na lang ang tanungin niyo,” said a visibly irked Roxas.

“Bakit niya inaakala na ikukulong siya? Nagnakaw ba siya? Magnanakaw ba sya? May ginawa ba syang mali? Bakit sya ikukulong?” he added.

Roxas led the mass oathtaking of 260 local officials from different political parties, including the Binay-led opposition party United Nationalist Alliance, as new members of the ruling LP at the LP headquarters in Quezon City.

In a previous newspaper report, Binay said he has a feeling that a warrant of arrest will be issued against him after he files his certificate of candidacy.

Through a text message, Binay found out about the alleged plot that he might be arrested sometime October or by January or March.

“So imbes na magping-pongan tayo na wala namang katuturan eh siya na lang siguro ang tanungin. Siya nagsabi no’n eh di, bakit? bakit ka ikukulong?” added Roxas.
