MANILA, Philippines–Classes in all levels (pre-school to college) have been suspended Friday in Valenzuela and Malabon cities and Pateros town, all in Metro Manila, due to expected rains brought by Tropical Storm “Kabayan.” Malabon and Pateros are particularly prone to floods.

The state weather bureau placed Metro Manila under storm signal No. 1 on Thursday evening.

Radio station DZMM  reported early Friday that the suspension of classes in the three local government units in the metropolis were announced by their respective mayors.
