‘Kabayan’ makes landfall in Aurora on Friday—Pagasa

Tropical depression “Kabayan” will make landfall in Aurora early Friday, the state weather bureau said.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Isabela and Cagayan will experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains starting Thursday night to Saturday due to “Kabayan,” weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Storm Signal No. 1 was raised in Southern Isabela, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Ilocos Sur La Union, Benguet, Nueva Viscaya, Quirino, Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Catanduanes, Camaerines Sur, Camarines Norte, Aurora and Northern Quezon including Polillo Island.

Moderate to heavy rains are seen within the 200 kilometer radius of the tropical cyclone.

“Kabayan” packed maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and moves northwest at 20 kph.

It was last tracked 105 kilometers north northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte.

“Kabayan” is seen to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday morning, Aurelio said. TVJ
