A group of female dancers were seen performing during a gathering after a Liberal Party (LP) event in Laguna on Thursday.
The emcee in the event reportedly said the performers, a sexy singing and dancing group called Playgirls, were a “surprise gift” to those who attended the event from Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chair Francis Tolentino.
Tolentino is purportedly one of the members of LP’s senatorial slate in next year’s polls.
He expressed his desire to run for senator on Tuesday in an event where officials from his hometown province of Cavite were present.
Tolentino, however, denied reports that he brought dancers to the gathering.
“I was just a guest at the birthday party. I did not bring any dancer or singer. The emcee probably got misinformed,” he said in a text message to INQUIRER.net.

Netizens, meanwhile, slammed Tolentino for his alleged act.
Twitter user Schweddy Balls asked: “Is this a bachelor party?”
User Renzo Blanco said: “Cheap and chauvinistic.”
Another user, Karl Rex Villaruel said: “I shiver at ‘gift.’ What is happening to Tolentino?! Strike 2 na siya this week!”
Cleve Arguelles opined: “A proof that PH political parties are still very much like an old man’s club.”
