NAGA CITY, Philippines — Representative Leni Robredo arrived here Thursday morning to seek guidance and prayers from the Roman Catholic archbishop, a religious group and supporters regarding her decision to accept or decline the offer to be the runningmate of Mar Roxas.

Robredo, of Camarines Sur’s third district, had a breakfast with Most Rev. Rolando Tria Tirona, archbishop of the Archdiocese of Caceres, at 7:15 a.m. at the Bishop’s Palace. They had a 45-minute closed-door meeting.

Emerging from the meeting, Tirona and Robredo were both smiling, but gave no details of their meeting.

Robredo apologized to Tirona for involving the archbishop in her predicament. When asked what they talked about, Tirona said that it was for “guidance and prayer.”

Robredo’s next stop was the Missionary of the Poor, a religious institution dedicated to abandoned people, which she and her late husband Jesse Robredo have been supporting.
